Best Afghan Singer?

Hello everyone,
Let's kick off the Blog with a easy discussion of: Who is the best Afghan Singer? and which era of Afghan songs is more intresting the old music or the new one's?
Also, what does everyone think about inviting musicians to Afghan Society parties? any one singer in particular in mind?

ASNM Eid Fitr Party

Eid is coming everyone. Today is the 18th day of Ramadan. We are quickly approaching Eid. The Eid party will be on Sunday November 13th, 2005 at the German center from 5-12. The party will be a Potluck event and everyone is asked to attend on time for we have many activities planned. The activities include: a lecture by Faisal Nabulsi on Ramadan. Dinner, by the wonderful Afghan community; a kids game for all the youth. Lottery for fundraising as well as music and dance.
Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Summer BBQ

Members of the ASNM held a summer BBQ to celebrate Mula's departure for Kabul. About 20 brothers and sisters attended. Khan prepared the meat, which reminded us all of his wonderful restaurant, Tora Bora. We all agreed that we miss having a location to meet, eat and talk weekly. We played volleyball, a bit of football and caught up on the latest news. We all wish Mula a safe and wonderful trip back to Afghanistan, insha'Allah.
