Picnic
AAWW BR,
We will be having our first picnic for ASNM on June 18th, 2006 (it just so happens to be fathers day :-) The picnic will take place at the Elena Gallegos picnic ground. I am looking for as many volunteers to arrive early and set up with us. The Forrest service has fire restrictions but we can use propane for now. If you have a gas grill that we can use please volunteer it as well. We should have plenty of meat if all that is promised comes through.

The summer picnics have come to an end. We had our first picnic on June 18th, 2006. We celebrated the graduation of 10 graduates from high school and college. Each student received a engraved pen with their name and ASNM2006 on it as well as a written letter of congratulations from the board. We encourage everyone to further their education and we will do whatever is in our power to help along the way.
We want to thank the following families for their Nazir (donating the tasty sheep) for the BBQ.

It was mentioned to me several times that the food was exceptionally good for the summer picnics. I want to thank everyone for making this happen for our community.
Also, our presentations for the first picnic consisted of respect for the parents and children alike. As well as the true meaning of fathers and mothers day. The presenters were:

Our second picnic was on August 13th, 2006 and I'm pleased to say it was the most organized and well planned picnic I have seen in the 5 years that I have been with the board.
We gave an additional 3 gifts to students that graduated with honors from high school. Our presentations were about Ramadan and why we selected to give an a pen to our graduates. You can read the English portion in the next blog. The presenters were:
